How it was built
One score, two questions
The Founder Optionality Score™ didn't start as a single idea. It began as two separate assessments used with founder-led businesses.
One looked at where the founder was unintentionally the bottleneck. The other looked at whether the business could actually scale without one person holding it together.
Founders kept asking which one to take. That confusion was the signal. The two weren't separate. They were two halves of the same read. The same handful of places showed up every time: ownership, handoffs, revenue flow, governance, transferability. The two became one score.
The score also gives something revenue alone can't: a before-and-after of what shifts in the weeks after structural work. It's the closest measure of what the methodology targets: a business that runs without its founder.

Built by Niki
Niki founded HelmCrew, a scaling studio for founder-led businesses. The Founder Optionality Score grew out of assessment work she was already running with clients.
